Skeleton Studies/Gestures

I have wanted to do this for a really long time. Instead of just copying gestures from Pixel lovely, and studying anatomy from books (Art Students Anatomy by Edmond J. Farris) I wanted to do both at the same time, I look at the gesture and draw the bones and anatomy instead of just the surface. I hope to do the same next time but with muscles added.

I have been watching a lot of Game of Thrones, and just felt inspired to create a small story.

So, im borrowing my friends cintiq for a bit and wanted to warm up, then got a bit carried away and realized...I need a cintiq. ahahaa they are sooo much fun. Thanks EHoff..big up to W.Hollywood! haha

Some more work for a story I am developing. Im trying to just get it out of my system lay it all out so I can see what I am working with and then start re structuring and putting some better story structure and arcs in to my story.

Bobby the Vietnam Vet

I have a couple of stories I want to work out and storyboard. Today I wanted to change it up a bit and work in Flash. I have to admit, the brush sort of sucks but once you get the hang of it, its not so bad. This is a character I am developing for a personal project..lets hope I dont let up and keep this going.

BART sketches, hands, etc.

A couple of pages from my sketchbook. The 1st page was a night after the gym I could not sleep so went to Starbucks..since its open late. Drew a couple of late night coffee addicts. 2nd page, tried to get some quick gestures and variety of shapes from people waiting for BART to arrive. 3d page, my attempt at simplifying and exaggerating some hands and ONE foot. 4th page, that one chubby dude was REALLY into his game. I also like the guy on the left..he had a nice cap on. 5th page, having a go at a simple style but..caricature... also tried to caricature some architecture..I should try more of those.

Quick Studies from last Monday

So....finally went to a Quick Studies workshop. I have to admit, I really miss going to these and need to keep going..im soooo rusty. My fav poses is the one where the dude is skatboarding and doing some kind of ollie.(just for the record, he wasnt REALLY skating)

Phillz Coffee Sketches

Before heading out to work I wanted to get a couple of sketches down in my sketchbook. Some on the BART headin to the Mission. The second page are from a quick pit stop at Phillz Coffee. I have to say, everytime I pass by that place I get soooo intimidated since its always packed and popular. I usually ending choosing another place to sketch. NEVER MOREE!!! From now on I will def Phillz up, great coffee and amazing characters and people to sketch.

Bart Sketches and New Story in the works.

So, this post has a mix and match of stuff. I started off just drawing some people and things that caught my eye on a Bart ride with Reemo coming from Fremont to SF. Then in the empty space I filled it up with a new STORY i want to board and work on. The idea and title was inspired by something really funny Reemo said.
